Book Bugs: Tales of Travellers was the fifth iteration of NLB Singapore's flagship reading programme launched in 2016 to foster a love of reading in children. Set in the fantastical world of Bugcadia, this promotion encouraged readers to explore stories in English and Mother Tongue Languages. Players earn points by borrowing books or eBooks, which can be redeemed for Book Bugs cards. There have been various quizzes, community events, and playoffs that give opportunities for players to earn bonus points and collect tokens. More than just screen-free entertainment, the Book Bugs card game sparks children’s cognitive skills as they take charge of their gameplay.
